A Mattapan man who raped and murdered his next-door neighbor in 2011 will not get a new trial. The state’s Supreme Judicial Court upheld Eldrick Broom’s 2013 first-degree murder conviction on Monday. Broom was found guilty of strangling Rosanna Camilo, who lived in the same apartment complex. Broom is serving a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
