Mayor Martin Walsh will announce the new home for an $18 million library at a prominent former bank building in Uphams Corner during the Imagine Boston 2030 launch celebration today.
According to the mayor, the city controls the 6,300-square foot building at 555 Columbia Rd. where the celebration will take place, and is “converting it into a library.” It sits in the middle of Uphams Corner, an area marked for reinvigoration by Imagine Boston, the city’s first major planning initiative in over 50 years.
