Brookview House gets big assists from Boston firm

Last Thursday

..

Last Thursday the children at Brookview House in Dorchester received backpacks full of school supplies and first-day-of-school outfits from employees at Brown Brothers Harriman. This marks the 11th year BBHers have donated the backpacks to the kids at Brookview.

Brown Brothers’ employees “adopt” one of the 100+ students to personally fill a backpack with the necessary school supplies to start the year off right. Younger children are given watercolors, crayons, lunch boxes, etc., while older students receive articles such as three-ring binders, filler paper, notebooks, scientific calculators and SAT prep books. Over the years, BBHers have donated over 1,400 backpacks as well as Thanksgiving meals to the residents of Brookview

Brookview House is an independent, nonprofit organization for women and children experiencing homelessness that not only provides a safe place to live but support services and programs on site to confront the root causes of homelessness and transform lives.
