Boston Police say a man was apparently shot in the head early Wednesday morning (April 30) on the 200 block of Bowdoin Street, but is expected to survive. According to a police report, the incident happened around 2:20 a.m. when officers were dispatched to Bowdoin and Draper streets for a report of a person shot.

The report indicates that officers arrived and found two Hispanic males on the corner and a victim with apparent gunshot injuries to the left side of his head. The victim was conscious, but dazed with blood coming from his head and on his upper body. The companion said they heard a “pop” that came out of nowhere.

The victim was unable to answer any questions, and officers rendered aid while awaiting Boston EMS to arrive and transport the victim to the hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, according to a police spokesperson.

The report indicates that officers canvassed the area, but found no ballistic evidence at the scene.
