Dorchfest—the free music festival in Dorchester’s Ashmont-Adams now in its fourth year— will be held on Sat., May 31, from noon to 5 p.m.
Last year’s event, set on Dorchester Day weekend, drew an estimated 3,000 people who enjoyed 40-plus musicians on some 30 porches, yards, parking lots and patios throughout the neighborhood around Ashmont station.
Organizers say this year’s schedule will include a new “family hour” from 12-1 p.m. with kid-friendly activities. There’ll be live music to satisfy a wide range of tastes, with genres ranging from jazz, world and rock to folk and hip-hop. Get a full list of bands and locations at Dorchfest.com.
