In hosting its second annual Dunk Tank and Cold Plunge fundraiser on Friday, July 25, College Hype helped to raise more than $10,000 in support of the Matt Brown Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by spinal cord injuries.

With the sun blazing and spirits high, community members gathered at the company’s Weymouth headquarters for an afternoon filled with laughter, energy, and heartfelt giving. The event was emceed by local personalities Jim Fagan and Evan Doherty, who kept the crowd engaged and the momentum strong throughout the day.

Among the participants were Paul Wahlberg, Bill Richard, and Joe Carroll from National Grid, Gerry Keane of Feeney Brothers, and Jon Norton, who joined the College Hype team in stepping up for the cause—literally—by taking turns in the dunk tank and cold plunge.

Participants were encouraged to nominate colleagues for dunking with $25 or more. Venmo donations, fueling a fun and generous competition that energized the crowd, fueled the fundraising total.

“Our goal was not only to raise funds but also to rally the community around a cause that touches countless lives,” said Jack Doherty, owner of College Hype. “The Matt Brown Foundation represents strength, resilience, and hope—and we’re proud to support that mission.”

Founded by Norwood native Matt Brown, the foundation works to improve the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries and their families. It provides financial assistance, equipment, and support services to help recipients face life’s challenges with dignity and strength.
