Lake Morrissey alert!

High tides and “minor” coastal flooding forecast tomorrow morning (Tuesday, Nov. 4) through Sunday, Nov. 9 are expected to cause disruptions on Morrissey Boulevard this week.

Anticipated high tide times are as follows:
Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 9:25 a.m. – 11’.4”
Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 10:13 a.m. – 11’.9”
Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11:02 a.m. – 12’.2”
Friday, Nov. 7, at 11:52 a.m. – 12’.2”
Saturday, Nov. 8, at 12:45 p.m. – 12’.0”
Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1:40 p.m. – 11’.5”

Morrissey Boulevard is going to flood periodically when there is a high tide or a storm surge. The state’s Transportation Dept. and State Police will activate lane closures and probably shut down the exit ramp from the expressway for 2-3 hours during the events.

As we’ve noted in past coverage: “It’s what happens when you build a low-lying motorway through the middle of a body of water—in this case, Dorchester Bay.”
