Lena Park Community Development Corporation (CDC) has a dynamic lineup of seven free and open-to-the-public activities this season for residents of Dorchester and Mattapan.
“These programs reflect Lena Park’s continued mission to strengthen community connections, promote lifelong learning, and support youth and families through education, empowerment, and engagement,” read a statement from the CDC.
•Limitless Mentor Groups:
The Limitless Athletics Young Men’s Mentor Group meets Mondays from 6–8 p.m., while the Co-Ed Mentor Group gathers on Wednesdays from 6–8 p.m.
Both sessions offer open discussions, leadership training, and real-life skill development for youth ages 12–16. Participants explore mental health, confidence, leadership, and personal growth in a supportive environment.
- Self-Defense Class: Meets on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Public Speaking Workshop:
Led by Tony Davis, this six-week workshop, which meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays through Dec. 4 helps participants build communication confidence, master presentation techniques, and understand emotional intelligence in both personal and professional settings. A certificate ceremony will be held on December 4.
•Tech Support Office Hours:
Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m., when you can get help with your computer, phone, or software? Drop in for bilingual technical support, covering everything from virus removal to hardware repair. The tech team provides friendly assistance for all experience levels.
