High tides could once again swamp parts of Dorchester’s Morrissey Boulevard during peak travel times this week, including the morning rush hour.
State officials are warning that the roadway could see partial or full closures starting Wednesday (Dec. 3)— and shut-downs to the expressway off-ramp— right through the weekend.
The boulevard, built on landfill through what was once a section of Dorchester Bay, is periodically inundated by seawater. It’s a situation that has grown worse in recent years with rising sea levels.
State officials say the anticipated high tide times are as follows:
• Wed., Dec. 3, at 8:58 a.m.
• Thurs., Dec. 4, at 9:50 a.m.
• Friday, Dec. 5, at 10:42 a.m.
• Sat., Dec. 6, at 11:35 a.m.
• Sunday, Dec. 7, at 12:29 p.m.
• Monday, Dec. 8, at 1:24 p.m.
