Boston firefighters responded to 359 Geneva Ave. in Dorchester shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday for what turned into a three-alarm fire that spread to the neighboring three decker at 355 Geneva Ave., just a few feet away.

The fire is at a three-family property that neighbors say is vacant.

About 130 athletes will compete in the event organized by Head of the Charles Regatta.

“Residents deserve clarity about our vision for streets that are safe, beautiful, and family-friendly,” the mayor wrote.

Tom McKenna and Mary Dyer will host a Meet & Greet on Thursday, July 30, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Eire Pub, where attendees can meet both writers, purchase signed copies of their books, and reminisce about the neighborhood that inspired their work.

The event, organized by Build Together, Epiphany School, Melville Park Neighborhood Association, St Mark’s Area Civic Association, and Greater Ashmont Main Streets, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Boston Licensing Board on Thursday approved Hung Nguyen’s plans to open Tach Coffee at 1411 Dorchester Ave. at Greenwich Street in Fields Corner.
