Irish pub that plans live music approved in Adams Village

The Boston Licensing Board on Thursday approved plans by Frank Delaney and Teresa Murphy to replace the short-lived Scobie’s, 782 Adams St. in Dorchester, with the Session House, which will feature Irish pub grub accompanied by Irish seisiún music – much of it by local musicians.
Funding is tight in Boston’s public schools (BPS), with budget cuts forcing layoffs for more than 500 teachers as rising costs, flat revenues, and the loss of federal funding has put a hole in the city’s budget.
Boston residents who use the curbside food waste pickup program learned this week that the program will move from a weekly to a bi-weekly schedule starting on Oct. 5., meaning that those who participate in the “green bin” program will have to hold their food waste for two weeks between collections.

Plans for a 30-seat eatery, with take-out— called Tori Japan— were discussed last Monday evening (Aug. 24) during a virtual meeting with abutters organized by city officials.
