Irish pub that plans live music approved in Adams Village

The Boston Licensing Board on Thursday approved plans by Frank Delaney and Teresa Murphy to replace the short-lived Scobie’s, 782 Adams St. in Dorchester, with the Session House, which will feature Irish pub grub accompanied by Irish seisiún music – much of it by local musicians.
Funding is tight in Boston’s public schools (BPS), with budget cuts forcing layoffs for more than 500 teachers as rising costs, flat revenues, and the loss of federal funding has put a hole in the city’s budget.
Boston residents who use the curbside food waste pickup program learned this week that the program will move from a weekly to a bi-weekly schedule starting on Oct. 5., meaning that those who participate in the “green bin” program will have to hold their food waste for two weeks between collections.

Relying on expected revenue from the so-called millionaires tax, Healey’s legislation would distribute funding to districts across the state on a per-pupil basis, delivering approximately $11 for each student enrolled in a district.
Boston City Councillor at-Large Henry Santana issued a statement on Tuesday (July 21) announcing that he remains hospitalized following what he called “persistent and unresolved health issues.”
Here in Dorchester, the focus is on low-lying coastal areas like Patten’s Cove and Morrissey Boulevard south to Tenean Beach and Pope John Paul II Park.
Among those helping to lead the event is Dorchester’s Joyce Linehan, who produced the series alongside author James Sullivan and Jon Lupfer. Dorchester musician Elisa Birdseye will perform as part of the evening’s lineup.
Hall, of Mattapan, was recognized for her advocacy through the Colorado Street Neighborhood Association.
Zion Atkinson of Dorchester and Rocco Blasi of South Boston have been awarded scholarships as part of the agency’s annual efforts to support neighborhood students.
