Fall Fine Arts & Music Programs for the Fall

The Arts program at the Club is gearing up a busy slate of activities for members of all ages. Our Fine Arts classes will include Cartooning (Mondays), Painting (Tuesdays), Sculpture (Wednesdays), Girls Art/Boys Art (Thursdays) and Arts & Crafts (Fridays). There will be one class for our 6-9 year old members at 3:30 p.m. and a second class at 4:30 p.m. for members age 10-12 (except for the Thursday classes). Pre-registration will be required (beginning 9/19) for these classes which will run through the beginning of December. Typically, at the end of each session we will host an exhibit of works created in our Fine Arts classes for family and friends. We will also offer five classes which will take place for members in the evening as follows: Computer Art, Fashion Photography, Drama, Digital Photography, and Teen Center Arts. These classes are offered to members ages 10 and older. Lastly, we will offer Gamesroom Art weekdays at 3:00. This will be a drop-in program on the gamesroom schedule for ages 6 to 12. These Fine Arts classes are in addition to our Music Instruction program which, thanks to our newly completed Music Clubhouse, will now have a home for our members taking part in the program. Beginning on 9/14 members ages 10 and older can register for classes which will include one-to-one and small group instruction in piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums, voice as well as audio production. For our members ages 6 to 9 we will offer drop-in Music instruction sessions in the gamesroom. For information on our Fine Arts programming please contact Donna Seery at ext. 1320, while those interested in Music can speak with Alex Budrow at ext. 1410.

These two teams, one for Girls ages 13 & under and one for Boys ages 13 & under, will play home and away games against Boys and Girls Clubs from Massachusetts and New Hampshire in the N.E.N.E.A.P.C. league beginning in October. The try-outs for the Girls All-Stars will be on 9/22 while the Boys All-Star team will be held on 9/23. Player ages are determined as of September 1, 2009 and there is no cost to participate. Players must supply their own stick which must have a plastic or fiberglass blade. In addition to these two teams, our Club will invite Clubs from the region to participate in one-day tournaments in October for Girls 18 & under and Boys 16 & under.
