Intramural Soccer Program
Week number two of the 4-team co-ed Intramural Soccer program was held and produced two well played games. In the opener Celtic F.C. needed a shoot-out to defeat F.C. Barcelona. Sam Mastrogiacomo (2 goals) and Walter Dew-Hollis (1 goal) led the Celtic F.C. attack while F.C. Barcelona was led by Isaac Butler (2 goals) and De’Andre Dew-Hollis (1 goal). In the second game Manchester United received their offense from Samuel Aloidor (2 goals), Erilson Teixeira (1 goal) and Desmond O’Halloran (1 goal) helping defeat Inter Milan by a score of 4-2. Owen Murray (1 goal) and Naomi Presume (1 goal) provided the offense for Inter Milan. The Defensive Players of the Week were Natham Lam of F.C. Barcelona and Naomi Presume of Inter Milan while the Offensive Players of the Week were Sam Mastrogiacomo of Celtic F.C. and Samuel Alouidor of Manchester United. Current standings has Celtic F.C. and Manchester United tied for first place with records of 2-0 followed by F.C. Barcelona and Inter Milan tied at 0-2. Marr-lins Attend National
Championship Meet
Earlier this month 13 members of the Marr-lin Swim Team headed to St. Petersburg, Florida to take part in the Annual Boys and Girls Club National Swim Championships. These members posted the necessary qualifying times and practice attendance marks to become eligible for the meet and helped lead the team to a 11th place finish overall. (1:20.81) and 50 yd. Butterfly (36.85), all of these times set new Marr-lin team records for her age group and; Jake MacKinnon – 200 yd. Freestyle (2:08.57), 100 yd. Breaststroke (1:26.34), 50 yd. Freestyle (28.51) and 500 yd. Freestyle (5:42.04 – a new club record). Congratulations to each of these swimmers on their accomplishments. Next up on the calendar for our swimmers will be the 6-team Intramural League which will begin team practices this week. The league combines members of the Marr-lins with graduates of the swim lesson program and recreational swimmers. Practices are held one night a week and meets are held on Saturdays. Keystone Club News
The members of the Keystone Club, our teen leadership development group club, will enjoy a busy schedule of upcoming activities kicking off May by assisting in a Boston Shines event at Savin Hill Park on 5/1. The following weekend they will hold their Annual Spring Clean-up of the Club grounds on 5/8. Other upcoming events include a Car Wash & Yard Sale Fundraiser on 5/22, assisting at the Special Olympics on 6/19 and our “Opportunity for Community” event on 7/10. On this day Keystone members hope to bring together local residents to support organizations in need. Keystone members will be holding a Blood Drive for the American Red Cross as well as registering volunteers for the Organ Donor and Bone Marrow registries. In the month of August members will be organizing other Keystone Clubs from across the state to take part in a Community Service project at The Greater Boston Food Bank.
