June Special Events – June will close out the school-year program with a bang. On 6/1 we will host Triple Play Day, which will include the Intramural Swim League championships, Co-ed Soccer League Championship Game, an Obstacle Course, Health Fair, and more. On 6/3 the Music Program will host a Talent Show while on 6/4 and 6/11 we will host Orientation for the members enrolled in the Summer program. On 6/6 the All-Star Volleyball team will close out their season when they travel to the Lawrence Club. On the weekend of 6/7 one group of teens will head to Rivier College in NH for the Diplomas to Degrees Conference while a second group of teens will head to the Cape House for a Leadership retreat. On 6/8, Keystone Club members will volunteer at the Special Olympics, the Girls Scouts will take their year-end trip, and a group of 50 will head to New York to see “Spiderman” at the Foxwoods Theater. On 6/11 the I/S Basketball League Championships begin while on 6/14 & 6/15 our swimmers will compete in the Bay State Games. On 6/15 a group will go Fishing with the M.B.T.A. Police and on 6/21 we will host the Music Clubhouse Idol Finale. On 6/25 four lucky members will attend the Tedy Bruschi Football Clinic at Gillette Stadium thanks to S.B.L.I. Operation Progress Scholars – Congratulations to Jake Mastrogiacomo (Thomas Pokaski Scholar), Nadia Ellies (Patricia D’Arrigo Scholar) and Maeve McCarthy (Nancy Amrhein Scholar), each of whom received an Operation Progress Scholarship at a ceremony held last week. Our thanks to the Scholarship Committee, the respective families who support the program, and to the mentors who will be working with the students.
