Teen Program News – The Teen program at the Club will resume programming on 1/5 after the holiday break. Two of our large group programs have an ongoing schedule, the Career Prep program and the Keystone Club. The Career Prep program curently has 35 participants in leadership positions within the Club. We will be kicking off our 4-part Job Ready program for interested teens on 1/27. We will also assist participants with registration for the approaching Summer Jobs programs. The Keystone Club closed out the month by volunteering at Christmas in the City and the City’s Senior Citizen’s New Year Gala. Upcoming in January the 30+ participants of our Teen Leadership program will be volunteering with the Challenger Basketball program, hosting Nutrition Education classes, serving as tutors and taking part in a day of service event on MLK Day. Team Smile Event – The Club will once again be partnering with the Massachusetts Convention Center and Team Smile to offer free dental cleanings, screenings and treatments (if needed) on 1/29. All activities will take place at the Convention Center and transportation will be provided. Spots will be limited and registration forms are now available. Challenger Basketball – In partnership with the Martin Richard Foundation, we will begin the Challenger Basketball season on 1/10. The program, which will be housed at the Marr Clubhouse, will run for 6 Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants are paired with Buddies and other volunteers throughout the program.
