Winter Art Classes Begin

The Winter session of Art classes has begun with classes for all age groups. We are offering Fine Arts classes in Drawing (Mondays), Painting (Tuesdays), Sculpture (Wednesdays) and Arts & Crafts (Thursdays) with a 3:30 class in each for Bantams & Cadets (ages 6-9) and a second class at 4:30 for Juniors (ages 10-12). Pre-registration is required for any of these 8 classes. In the evening hours we offer Animation (Mondays), Jewelry design (Tuesdays), Photography (Wednesdays) and Teen Arts (Thursdays). On Fridays we offer drop-in Art classes for all age groups. In addition to our Fine Arts classes, our Music instruction program will resume on 1/22 with one-to-one and small group instruction. Another staple in the Arts program is our entry into Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s National Fine Arts competition. Works are currently being assembled for shipment to the North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club in Pennsylvania for the regional exhibit. We are hopeful that we will repeat the success of the past two years where a club member has had their artwork selected to move on to the national exhibit where they were honored as a finalist. For the first time we are also looking forward to taking selected photos taken by our participants in the Photography class and entering them into the National Photography competition. For additional information on any of our Arts programming please contact Donna Seery at (617) 288-7120, ext. 103.
