Flaherty: Thank you, Dorchester

To the Editor:

I wish to express my heartfelt thanks once more to all my Dorchester friends and supporters for all your help and assistance over the course of many election campaigns over the past years, and for the great loyalty and faith I have been able to count on from you all, time and time again.

Life is full of ups and downs, but I take great satisfaction from the fact that voter participation in Boston has grown broader and more reflective of our city and its many diverse neighborhoods than at any time in recent memory.

I urge my supporters to keep politically active and involved, as I plan to do, and to work with all our elected officials to help make Boston a better and stronger city that works for everyone. We must hold our elected officials accountable to being the responsive, effective and independent voices they promised to be during the most recent campaign.  

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for all your support over the years.
