SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE CORPORATIONS: In the last big pre-Perry event of the GOP presidential campaign, Mitt Romney defended his front runner status in last night’s Fox News debate (PI, Herald). Earlier in the day, our confidently-haired former Gov got into a bit of a tiff (PI) with some liberals about corporations being people while he was just trying to chill out on a hay bail in Iowa. Ah, just like the hay bails back home in Belmont.

FISHBOWL BOS.: Just so everyone’s clear: Gill, the House Ways and Means Vice-Chairman’s office’s fish, died recently and will be greatly missed. Kelly, the Chairman’s office’s fish, is still very much alive, probably indicating his preference for and against certain budget cuts via splashes and swimming patterns. Are there any other office fish around? Let me know, it’s my beat now.
