




To mark the nation’s semiquincentennial, the JFK Library will offer free admission to all visitors on July 3, 4, and 5.

The kickoff event will include DJs and live music, steel pan and drumming, mas band previews, Caribbean food vendors, family-friendly activities, and remarks from CACAB leaders, community partners, and cultural ambassadors.

This summer, the former home of the historic Dorchester Theatre at 1524 Dorchester Ave., also known as the Park Cinema, will be transformed into an art studio where people of all ages can go to create and celebrate.

The Caribbean American Carnival Association of Boston (CACAB) has announced that state Sen. Nick Collins and state Rep. Brandy Fluker-Reid will serve as Grand Marshal and Grand Matron of the 53rd annual Boston Caribbean Carnival, starting with the J’ouvert Parade, on Sat., Aug. 29.
